Wandering Wednesday Hike
Did you know that at 183 feet, Mount Holly is the second-highest point in Burlington County? The northern edge of the Rancocas Creek watershed runs through the top of it. Water falling on the south side of the Mount collects and drains into the North Branch of the Rancocas in downtown Mount Holly. To the north, water drains to the Assicunk Creek and into the Delaware at Burlington City.
Join Rancocas Conservancy co-founder and Vice-President Mark Thomas on a walk that traces the route of water from the Mount to the creek. You will gain a sense of the elevation of Mount Holly and how to “read” the landscape within a historic neighborhood. Follow the flow of water from the mount to the south, where it gathers in the Bartram Woods neighborhood into wetlands, and across Rancocas Road into the Rancocas’s North Branch, just upstream from the Water Treatment Plant.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring hydration, and a hiking stick. Insect repellants are recommended.
PARK ON HIGH STREET by PROSPECT STREET (BETWEEN EVERGREEN AND HILLSIDE)
Mount Holly Wandering Wednesday Rescheduled
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, this event will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 630pm. Meet and park on High Street near Evergreen. Rain or shine, but thunderstorm will cancel.

Preserve Clean up Day - Bartram Woods
This neglected patch of historic woods is in the process of being preserved through the cooperation of Burlington County Parks, The Rancocas Conservancy, and the Save Mount Holly’s Woods organization. The goal of this clean-up day will be to unearth the sidewalk and storm drains, which have been buried under overgrowth and yard waste dumped along the edge.
We recommend you wear protective clothing, gloves, and shoes, and bring hydration, insect repellent, and sunscreen. If you have rakes, shovels, brooms, or tools for cutting brush and branches, and feel comfortable using them, please feel free to bring them.
For more information, contact Heidi Winzinger Heidi@HeidiWinzinger.com or 856-630-9700 (text or call)
PARK ON GRANT STREET CLOSE TO LEVIS DRIVE (we plan to limit parking along the woods on Grant Street in the morning, where we will be working)
