We are thrilled to invite you to an exclusive "Sneak Peek" Trail Opening at the Cowan Preserve on November 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
Rancocas Conservancy volunteers have worked hard over the past months to breathe new life into this 28-acre natural gem, tucked between preserved farmland and Rancocas Creek, and within walking distance of downtown Medford.
While the project is still a work in progress—we still have invasive vines to clear, a trail extension to complete down to Rancocas Creek, and another resting bench to build—the main loop trail is officially clear, safe, and will be ready for feet on November 7th.
We are opening the trail early because we believe the best way to care for and protect our local woods is to involve the people who live right next to them. We're looking for local residents who would love to help keep an eye on the preserve, join future volunteer workdays, or support the project through tax-deductible donations.

Trails for Ales Scavenger Hunt for tokens good for a free beer at one of the Medford Breweries! So far, Kings Road and Lower Forge have committed to participate. The beer hunt kicks off on November 7th, and the last day to redeem tokens for a free beer is November 30.
